JOB DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE: As the Business Development Executive, you are the driving force behind generating new sales, leads, and contacts. You are the leading representative of the company, and often the first contact for our new customers, so striving for excellence in “wow”ing them is an absolute priority for you. You are dedicated to carrying out an effective sales strategy and a strong team player who loves to collaborate to cultivate WINS for our company and our clients. Your primary responsibility is to drive sustainable financial growth through forging strong relationships with clients. 

TOP THREE ROLES:  Generating Sales Leads  | Customer Retention | Client Proposal Development


  • Consistently seek new opportunities to meet new clients, and follow up on all opportunities with direct contact to set up meetings. 

  • Attend and/or present at local, regional and national networking events, trade shows, conferences and expos as assigned by the Director of Sales. 

  • Nurture and Develop new business relationships as well as Collaborate with Event Producers to retain a portfolio of live event clients.

  • Achieve sales/revenue goals as it relates to this position.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Creative Director in the proposal development process, which includes the creative vision, and sourcing estimates for any requirements falling outside organizational core competencies.

  • Assist the Director of Sales and Marketing team in identifying any necessary marketing tools or resources necessary to reach our target markets and personas.

  • Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure that requirements are met

  • Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within the area you have been assigned

  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning

  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on corporate competitors

  • Direct communication and information from internal and external stakeholders to manage organizational procurement processes.

  • Exceed expectations by “wow”ing clients (“strategic partnerships” not “transactions”).

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge.

  • Be a co-champion and representative of the company's culture, mission, vision, and core values.


  • Travel to customer sites, venues, job locations, and industry events per Director of Sales.

  • Must be available for up to 50% travel and work flexible hours.


  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role.

  • Proven sales track record.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis software.

  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner

  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to WOW clients.

  • Experience researching market trends and targeting relationships, while retaining marketing partners.

  • Stamina and persistence to seek out new opportunities to meet with clients

  • Experience using rental and event management software, or possess the enthusiasm and ability to learn.

  • Must have experience and understanding of AVL equipment used in live event productions. 

  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and possess a high degree of adaptability to a continually changing environment.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for required travel. 

  • Thrives in event and office settings - must be available for up to __% travel and work flexible hours.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and an understanding of Mac-based programs including Keynote, Email, Internet software, PC and Apple Operating Systems.
